Description:

This project started with a 1950's building that was originally constructed as a manufacturing facility. Over the course of 50 years, this building has seen many different uses. The Owner operated a school in mobile classrooms for quite some time, before the building could be purchased and subsequently renovated. The renovation included gutting the existing building, remediating water issues, and providing fresh and colorful spaces for learning. The new interior work consisted of designing classrooms, computer labs, offices, administration areas, warming kitchen and cafeteria, indoor and outdoor play areas and other educational use support spaces. The façade of the building was updated and insulated. New insulated windows and new siding material replaced damaged ribbon windows and sun shades from the 1950's.

The kitchen had not received adjustments since that time.  The phase I project consisted of a pre-plan to adjust the layout of the area, including some demolition and some reconfiguration of existing cabinetry, lighting upgrades, above slab plumbing upgrades, paint, and the addition of a coffee station.

Phase II, has been approved for design, and will include a new dishwashing system, new grease trap, new prep area and storage cabinetry, below slab electrical upgrades, below slab plumbing upgrades, and new solid surface counter tops throughout.
